
Bruce Gillit Named Vice President
Denver, Colorado – Bye Engineering, LLC, which provides aerospace engineering services ranging from prototype to production, has promoted Bruce Gillit to Vice President.
As Vice President, Mr. Gillit will oversee engineering and business development activities for the company, which offers a full spectrum of precision aerospace engineering services ranging from concept development and preliminary design to complex analysis. Clients include aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), precision machining companies and composite parts manufacturers.
Gillit is an experienced engineering manager in program and project management with an expert knowledge of aircraft structures certification with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). His areas of specialty include engineering, design, manufacturing, materials and processing of composite aircraft structures.
George Bye, President of Bye Engineering, thanked Gillit for introducing the company to numerous industry manufacturers and said the promotion is recognition of his capabilities and efforts. “Composite structures are revolutionizing the aviation and aerospace industries,” he said. “Aerospace project managers and composites experts like Bruce are in high demand, and we are privileged to have him on our team.”
Previously, Gillit was Director of Engineering Services with AAI Acquisition, Inc. (formerly Adam Aircraft Industries), responsible for stress engineering, materials and processes engineering, liaison engineering and mass properties. He was also Manager of Advanced Structures Research in Product Development for Hawker Beechcraft, Inc., leading a team focused on composite structures technology research for business aircraft. At Aviation Technology Group, his responsibilities included structures certification planning for 14 CFR Part 23 Javelin aircraft and project engineer for fuselage, wings and empennage. Gillit has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah.
